Volunteering

Each family is required to donate 20 hours of volunteer time. We now have a computerized tracking system.  Keep track of your time and then input in the computer at Xavier.  If you are volunteering at the school, sign in as a volunteer on the computer and sign out when you are finished.  The computer will track your hours.

Elementary needs someone air up playground balls.

Art Class- (Supplies Needed) 
- toilet paper card board rolls, and
-unused recycled envelopes
-gallon size paint strainers for latex paint
-any used latex wall paint-yogart size or smaller containers with lids

Mr. Hanson's Art Class- Mr. Hanson is teaching a new drawing class this year and is needing more still life objects for the students to draw from.  Items needed include: geometric shapes, fake fruit, small artificial plants or flower arrangements, colored vases or pots, large candles, fake birds, small fake animals, old fashioned water pitchers, old jewelry boxes, small toys, small lamps, small decorative pillows, or any other items that would be appropriate and interesting to draw from.

Mr. Hanson will also be needing help with art classes for the elementary students throughout the year especially for 1st and 2nd grade.  If you would like to come in and help, please e-mail Megan Hanson at meganh12@juno.com.  For those parents who are unable to come help at the school, Mr. Hanson also has take home projects involving things such
as making salt dough clay, cutting fabric, paper, tissue paper, tooling foil, calendars, and wire, and folding construction paper and drawing lines on it.  These take home projects will be available to check out at the school library.  Coming to help at the school or taking projects home can both count towards volunteer hours.  Thanks so much

Also if there are any parents who still have project materials from last year, could you please return them as soon as possible?? 


After school work detail - Help with vacuuming rooms, emptying garbages, wiping white boards and tables, cleaning classroom windows at doorways (our teachers do this each night! They would love your help) We also need help with cleaning windows in all entrances, vacuuming in the foyer and hallways, sweeping the common area and the sweeping gym.

During the school day - Cafateria Help- We can use help wiping tables, emptying garbages, helping elementary with the salad bar and clean up salad bar and after lunch clean up.

At Home- covering literature books for secondary (Mrs. Corpron)

Mrs. McGregor (library) needs new books covered.

PFA Meetings - Volunteer with your 7th or 8th grader to take over the child-care during the next PFA Meeting - another great way to get in your hours.
