It takes a large number of individuals working for a common goal for a charter school to grow and prosper. Charter schools depend on parents and family members to provide expertise and knowledge, as well as members of our community.
The Xavier School Board has established several committees in order to serve the needs of our school. We need help finding individuals with expertise and a desire to assist the school in the following areas:
Legal -- Legislative liaison – keep abreast of legislative issues concerning charter schools and communication with legislators regarding issues school feels strongly about.
Community Relations -- Community Liaison - Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary etc. Ambassador Public Image – flyers, website, messaging, advertising, volunteer recognition, intra-education communication
Planning -- Assess needs with regard to long-range planning
Resource Development -- Develop list of potential board members identifying strengths Updating Board Operations Manual Board Orientation Board Training
Finance and Accounting -- Prepare monthly report to board Manages petty cash transaction – reconcile before submitting request Accounts payables and receivables Review bank reconciliations
Planning -- Develop long range fiscal plan to support strategic plan Establish fund development plan
Legal -- Be aware of necessary legal requirements i.e. ADA Negotiate city/state permitting process
Planning -- Identify Property Research sustainable, innovative models Align planning with mission and recommend goals and objectives to achieve those ends
Educational Focus -- Oversight of current facility
Board Accountability -- Establish mission and approves and goals and objectives to achieve those ends
Finance and Accounting-- Research grant opportunities and draft grants outlined by principal Research fundraising opportunities and coordinate with principal and PFA
Resource Development-- Research venture capital opportunities i.e. foundations, community groups
