Basically, a charter school is a free (no tuition) public school of choice funded by state funds (but not supported by local tax revenues). Charter schools are developed by founders who have specific educational vision for children. Authorized by the State of Idaho, charter schools are highly accountable to students, parents, and communities. Charter schools are created for a very definite purpose with a focus on a specific philosophy.
