Dear Xavier Charter School Students and Parents,  Thank-you so much for all the recycled and saved materials that you brought in from this summer.  We really appreciate your efforts in helping us stock our material for the students to do an array of ART projects at a low cost.  YES, we are still collecting those materials on the list that was sent home with students May 2008.  (We do have a copy of this list available at the school office.)  If you mark a bag of things with ART, we will be able to sort those items and store them for future use. Also, if you would like to help with the sorting, we always appreciate another set of hands.   Please keep your eye out for sales, yard sales and your garage or attic for fun and creative items to add to our assemblages.  Gratefully, Mr. Hicks, Art teacher and Mrs. Hicks, Para-educator. 

Each family is required to donate 20 hours of volunteer time. Here are a couple of ways for you to help out.

Yard work - Weeding, trimming, cleaning - what ever is your area of interest!

General - sign up in the office for a turn at answering the phone, making copies, delivering lunches - anything else of a hundred or so things that come up that needs to be done to help our school run smoothly.  A couple of hours each week, or whenever your schedule allows - just talk to Stacey Young at the office.

Art Room - Mr. Hicks could use help after school to clean up after art projects and then help set up for others. 

After school work detail - Help with vacuuming rooms, hallways, wiping white boards, and tables (our teachers do this each night!  They would love your help)

ALSO - volunteer during the school day - reading to our students, helping with school work, helping with recess or lunch time - a great way to get in your 20 hours.

Our PFA meets every first Wednesday of the Month at 6:30 PM.  Their mission is to enrich the lives of our students. Come join us and get involved.

Volunteer with your 7th or 8th grader to take over the child-care during the next PFA Meeting - another great way to get in your hours.
